Gaz de France
Gaz de France, Part of the GDF SUEZ Group, the world’s largest utility company, GDF SUEZ Energy UK is well established as a specialist energy supplier to industry and commerce across the UK, as well as a growing player in the electricity generation arena. We offer an innovative range of energy supply products to meet the requirements of all types of businesses and are constantly developing new products and adapting our services to meet their needs.
GDF SUEZ develops its businesses (electricity, natural gas, services) around a model based on responsible growth to take up today’s major energy and environmental challenges: meeting energy needs, ensuring the security of supply, fighting against climate change and maximizing the use of resources.
The Group provides highly efficient and innovative solutions to individuals, cities and businesses by relying on diversified gas-supply sources, flexible and low-emission power generation as well as unique expertise in four key sectors: liquefied natural gas, energy efficiency services, independent power production and environmental services.
GDF SUEZ has an efficient energy mix combined with a portfolio of gas supplies that rank among the most diversified in the world, which enables it to make the most of the convergence between natural gas and electricity and to spread out the risks related to energy supplies.
The Group’s expertise is based on two key forms of energy: nuclear energy – which is available and efficient with low CO2 emissions – and natural gas, the least polluting fossil fuel. At the same time, it concentrates its efforts on the development of new production capacities using the most effective solutions emitting the least amount of CO2, through renewable energy (hydro-electricity, wind power, biomass, solar and biogas) and which preserve natural resources by contributing to supply security and energy independence and certain price stability.
All these assets can be brought to meet the major challenges of the 21st century and help GDF SUEZ to increase the Group’s electricity capacities by 60 percent to raise them to 150 GW by 2016 (among which 90 outside Europe).
With GDF SUEZ, let’s enter a world that rediscovers energy.
Customer expectations are increasing and diversifying. To develop its business in a sustainable way, the Group must strive for high customer satisfaction levels by developing offers focused on enhancing energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and participating in building the cities of tomorrow.
A key feature of GDF SUEZ service offers is uninterrupted supply. Quality (e.g., gas odorization and calorific value, power supply voltage, quality control of water, etc.) is written into concession contracts and, in France, in public service contracts. This places service quality and continuity at the heart of GDF SUEZ’s commitment to its customers, users and communities.
The Group supplies natural gas through a portfolio of long-term contracts which are among the most diversified in Europe, from more than a dozen countries. This portfolio sources some 1,260 TWh from around the world, which is about 115 billion cubic meters. These contracts give GDF SUEZ the necessary force to ensure growth and secure supplies. GDF SUEZ is also one of the largest players in the short-term markets in Europe. This means it can adjust procurement to its needs and optimize purchase prices.
